MBEF Increases Grants to Save Teachers 

At last night's school board meeting, Nina Patel, President of MBEF, announced the foundation's intention to increase its annual grants to MBUSD by $385,000.  The additional grants, in combination with savings from the district's line items, will be used towards bringing back most of the nearly 30 "pink slipped" employees.  Increased grants were mostly enabled by the success of MBEF's Annual Appeal, which raised a record setting $4.7 million.   Total grants for the 2013-14 will exceed $5.38 million.     Read More.

Gators Run to Benefit MBEF   

On Saturday, June 1, the 18th Annual Gator Run will take participants through the beautiful beachside streets of Manhattan Beach -- all in the name of supporting MBEF and Manhattan Beach public schools.  Murad Family Foundation is once again the lead sponsor, and the race organizers are offering a prize to the school with the most participants.
