STEM Is Everywhere You Look In MB Schools Three-quarters of the nation’s fastest growing occupations require significant mathematics or science preparation and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) jobs are predicted to grow by 17% over the next several years. Therefore, it is not surprising that 78% of Manhattan Beach parents surveyed last year said they would love to see future MBEF grants focused on more STEM initiatives for our schools.

Community Priority Budget Meeting-Let Your Voice be Heard! Thursday, March 5, 2015 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joslyn Community Center The City of Manhattan Beach invites you to participate in the city’s first Community Priority Budget Meeting. RSVP if you plan on attending, space is limited. The purpose of this meeting is to engage residents in the budget process by holding a priority setting session which will be used to inform the development of the Fiscal Year 2015/16 Budget. Meet Your Lawmakers: Education Roundtable Friday, March 27, 2015 at 9:30 AM The new Mira Costa Multipurpose Room and Theatre Please join the Manhattan Beach PTA for a candid discussion on how and why Sacramento and Washington shape public education in Manhattan Beach. "Meet Your Lawmakers" is a unique opportunity to hear US Congressman Ted Lieu, CA State Senator Ben Allen, and CA Assemblyman David Hadley discuss how current legislation will affect our district's future. Grand View Gator 5K Run Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 8:00 AM Save the Date for the 20th Anniversary of The Murad Family Foundation Grand View Gator 5K Run at Grand View Elementary. MBMS Open Tennis Tournament Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Mira Costa High School Join MBMS and community partners for the 2015 Tennis Tournament, a round robin style event. The entry fee is $100, with all proceeds benefiting MBEF.

Save the Date! Manhattan Wine Auction - Saturday, June 13th, 2015 Mark your calendars for the 21st Annual Manhattan Wine Auction, to be held on Saturday, June 13th from 4:30 – 11pm at the Manhattan Country Club. The Wine Auction is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and raise money for our schools, while sampling the best of our local cuisine and wines from around the world. Tickets go on sale on May 1st at midnight - don’t miss out!
